James LeslieKirkcaldy North - James Leslie

James Leslie is the Scottish Conservative and Unionist councillor for the Kirkcaldy North ward.

James is a retired senior university lecturer and has a sound knowledge and background in economics and budgeting. He is aware of the need for better decision-making at Fife Council and why more decentralised budgets are required to ensure that Kirkcaldy gets a fair share.

James stood as the Scottish Conservative candidate for Kirkcaldy North in 2017 and since then has followed what has been going on at Fife House.

Following his selection for the Kirkcaldy North Ward James said: “I have found it very disappointing that whilst Council Tax has increased we have seen a reduction in services particularly with reduced bin collections and taxpayer money being poured into a Waterfront project that has had no long-term thinking go into it.”

“I have a strong local background having lived in Fife for over 40 years. My grandfather worked in the linoleum industry in Kirkcaldy and my mum lived in Kinghorn for much of her life. I enjoy playing golf at Kinghorn and Dunnikier. If elected I will be a strong local voice for the community and stand up for residents.”
